This blog has been dying slowly. But get ready for an amazing resurrection!
My little sister, Lynette is coming on board and we are going to join forces!
So you'll get to see what each of us is creating!

Maybe you don't know Lynette or remember her blog, Thinking In Shapes, which she deleted a little over a year ago.
Basically comparing the two of us, Lynette is Mr. Miaggi, and I am Daniel-son.

Get ready to be amazed by the master if you've been at all impressed with the apprentice.
HOW THIS CAME ABOUT:
We live 2 hours from each other, so we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like, as that would probably be every day if possible. But Lynette was over for a sleep over and after we watched Little Women and our kids were in bed we were chatting about motherhood stifling our creative capacity, and how we each love different aspects of blogging, but it's a lot of work. Lynette has recently started delving more into DIY and home projects (building her own bed) and wanted to share all her ideas. I was feeling burned out from blogging and after 7 years have been considering over and over just ending it and being done...but I always just keep coming back. So that night we both decided we'd both love working together and sharing our ideas with you.
the girls of our family: Lynette (9th grade), oldest sister Heather, Jessica (12th grade) |
I think we both have things to share, and we're both excited to work together. She's the authority on sewing and she's who I call for my sewing or garment questions. She calls me with furniture and DIY questions. And let's be honest, we both call our mom with both. So get excited because we're going to have Sheila mom features coming too. I'm so thrilled about all the changes and feel like fresh energy has given my blog life, we're even getting the fuzzy header revamped and making things look like it's not 2009 anymore around here.
So I thought it would be fun to introduce Lynette. I'm sure in no time you'll realize she's the better sister creatively and as a person....anyone who knows us in real life can attest to that.
Lynette with our awesome dad, Scott |
And she's got a whole stack of posts in draft form waiting to bust out for you so get ready!
There's more new and exciting changes in the works, but this post already has too many adjectives so we'll save them for another day. I haven't been this excited about this blog in years!! So look out, here come the Kelly sisters with sewing machines, drills, paint, fabric, and scissors I guess.
Yay! SO glad you didn't decide to run away from it. You are every bit as amazing as your sister, so this is going to be a fantastic venture for you both!
ReplyDeleteJessica you and your blog ARE fab. You have given me the confidence to make my profoundly Autistic son (age 10) comfortable trousers and for that I am eternally grateful.
ReplyDeleteOh that is exciting! I think it would be awesome to have somebody else around to help with my blog sometimes. What a great idea to bring your sister and mom sometimes on to help. I'm excited to see what you both come up with!
ReplyDeleteI loved her blog, it was a great showcase for her projects. I loved the class you both taught in Provo. This is so exciting, and I can't wait to see what you both have in store for us!
ReplyDeletehow great! i had followed both your blogs, and was pretty blown away when i found out you were sisters--so much talent in one family! i can't wait to see what you have planned now!
ReplyDeletethat's cool you didn't know we were related! Well I bet you're excited like me, that Lynette is coming back!
DeleteHow fun! I am excited!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Love your Venn diagram...hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The actor crushes could be interpreted lots of ways I guess. :)
DeleteYay!!! I enjoyed your sister's blog and have missed her posts, so it's the best of both worlds for me, double yay!!!
ReplyDeleteYay!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY! First of all I'm so happy you aren't getting rid of the blog...love it too much and second of all I couldn't be more excited about Lynettey! I love my cousins. I love love that comparison diagram that is exactly like you two which makes you a perfect combo!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear someone who knows us thought the diagram was accurate. Hope you're feeling OK and haven't got too uncomfortable! I saw your cute baby bump but got interrupted to comment earlier!
Deleteoh I must echo all the others in saying how glad I am that you are not throwing away your blog. I hope I am not opening up something sad or uncomfortable but this is the first time I heard about the third sister. my only comment is that you must not diminish all the wonderful abilities of your own. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. How are the patients liking your interestingly decorated waiting room ?
ReplyDeleteOh, not sad, we're all close in my family, Heather just isn't interested in sewing so she doesn't get blogged I guess. She doesn't read or follow blogs so I think it's just part of our real life that doesn't translate into the blog. The guy in Lynette's suit is our little brother, so you'll probably see more of all our family now Lynette and I are together blogging!
DeleteI'm so glad you aren't going to quit blogging! And I'm looking forward to seeing what Lynette has to say as well as your posts. =)
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! I can't wait to see what you two cook up.

ReplyDeletesqueee!!!! I loved thinking in shapes and was so sad when it was gone. As soon as I saw this, I thought-- oh, I hope we'll see more her mom's stuff, because she is awesome!!!! What a talented family! Super congrats on the 'new' blog! :)
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a great idea to continue sharing your creative projects in a manageable way. I love Lynette's blog and was sad when she deleted it, so selfishly this is great for me too!
