Simple Blouse PDF Sewing Pattern

DIGITAL PRINT-AT-HOME SEWING PATTERN:

The Simple Blouse pattern started with a top I made from drapes my aunt gave me.
It's a basic design from a woven fabric, basically a woven t-shirt.

The pattern has been a staple for me the last year or so and I'm excited to share the basic blouse along with a lot more.

My approach for this pattern was to not just provide a pattern to sew a blouse, but to provide lots of information. The design for the basic blouse is simple and the perfect project for a beginner just starting to sew clothing for themselves.  But I wanted this pattern to do more than just walk you through a basic blouse.

This pattern is formatted to teach you lots of techniques and sewing skills to implement into the basic frame of the simple blouse pattern, and hopefully add to your sewing repertoire for all your future sewing and designing.

The starter pattern contains 12 variations or techniques to get you started.

This pattern is simple, but like a blank canvas, offers itself to lots of creative variations.
But the actual pattern document was already getting too large, so I decided to supplement the pattern with more variations on the blog.
Tutorials will refer to pattern pieces and PDF instructions,
example: raise neckline 1.5" and bring in shoulder 1/2"

This Variations Post will have all Simple Blouse variations in one spot.
So after you buy the pattern, be sure to come back to Running With Scissors to scope out more variations to add to your wardrobe and sewing techniques to add to your sewing skill set.

WHO CAN WEAR THE SIMPLE BLOUSE?
The simple design can seem limited to flatter chested women.
But we've thought of everyone and the pattern shows step-by-step instructions on adding bust darts, and other adjustments to fit the blouse to your unique shape.
Bust dart PDF instructions adjust Simple Blouse pattern up to a DD bra cup size.
Lynette will also be adding additional information for bust sizes larger than DD.
Her variation tutorials will also focus on blouses and collars that open up the neckline which is so important with a full chest, without showing cleavage.
We hope this pattern will be a simple foundation, and all our tutorials and variations will teach you tips and techniques to sew for your specific body and shape.
As sisters we are on each end of the chest spectrum, and we hope we can help you sew flattering blouses where ever you fall between!

This sewing pattern is licensed for personal use only.
No unauthorized selling of simple blouses for profit permitted.
