Show Jacket

My husband Drew is a musician. He used to tour constantly, but a few years after we got married he became a barber, and he just plays music and records for fun now. He plays shows occasionally and he had a special one come up recently, and he wanted to wear something awesome for it. When he and I talked about the design for this jacket, we originally had Jude Law's jacket from Sherlock Holmes in mind, but with the red trim and mandarin collar I think it looks more like Bruce Lee. Either way though, it was awesome and worked perfectly for his show.

I just adapted my barber jacket pattern for this jacket. I made the piping myself because I couldn't find the right red at the fabric store. The center front has hook and eye closures. Oh, I love this one.

  5. Uh, I hopped on to look for some inspiring paint colors and somehow found my way here. As a person who just finished Sewing 101, I am amazed that you made this... and made your own piping?!?! You people are incredible!
