Week 1 PTR: Shirt Off Your Back

This was my entry for Project Toddler Runway Week 1.
There were some really cute projects, like the yellow dress that won, so I feel lucky to have made it through to next week--flower hair accessory inspiration, which is a challenge for me.  Girl ideas are always harder for me than boys for some reason, so we'll see if next week will by my last.
I really liked this little hoodie, and so does my little guy.
I rescued two shirts from the Goodwill bag.

From the two knit shirts, came a unique toddler hoodie.
I liked the asymmetry, contrasting elements, and the stripes in the fabric.

It even has a cool open pocket!
After taking the pictures, I told my nephew he could take it off, and he said he wanted to keep it on because "I like this big pocket on my belly."  I thought about adding 2 big buttons to close the pocket, but decided it would be better to leave it open for easy access.

Hopefully you'll be around this weekend to vote for the Week 2 in PTR!

I knew that was you! Good luck with the flower hair accessory... I have some opinions on this particular "theme" which I'll keep to myself, but I hope inspiration strikes hard and you magically win next week. And then someone throws in a million dollars to boot :o)

This is such a cool shirt. I want one in a "big person" size...any way that you might be doing a tutorial or selling the pattern?

Ok. I NEED to make one of these for my son. Is it lined or just one layer throughout the body? I can tell the pocket and hood are double layered.
Any chance you're making a tutorial or pattern. That pocket and design is just so unique!

Yes, I agree, super cute! Please make a tutorial or pattern. I'd love to have my mom help me sew one for my son.
