I've been trying to save time with blogging in general, and thought it would save time setting up a formal photo-shoot to just have my husband take photos of me using the things I made.
I also thought it would seem more personal having a look into our lives and to see the garments in use rather than modeled.
And I hate modeling and feel like such a dork.
But I found just trying a "candid" photo shoot results in 12 photos in two spots, all with my back turned.
So for this post you get a really great view of the left side of the skirt....and my pantry.
I'm terrible at writing in my journal but tried Sunday.
I think I got half a page written.
I need to just write bullet points of events and maybe go back to elaborate in a few years.
RJ wanted to go swimming at church I guess?

I found this great book through Ginny Sheller's blog. It's called "One Line a Day". Great for bullet points and just writing down things you dont want to forget at the end of the day! http://www.amazon.com/One-Line-Day-Five-Year-Memory/dp/0811870197

ReplyDeleteI could use that thanks!
DeleteWhat a great deal on the fabric and it's so pretty! Great job on the skirt! I like the new style of pictures!
ReplyDeletehey I really like this way of showing the photos. you have never looked like a dork but this was quite nice and the skirt is great. is it a reversible sort of weave to get that look? Did RJ come up with the swimming gear idea from seeing a baptism service?? Not sure how your church does it but from incidents in our family that is what I thought of first thing.
ReplyDeleteI think the fabric has a different sheen for the opaque stripes as opposed the sheer. It's wrong side was more of a matte on the solid stripes. I think the swim gear was just out from swimming the day before and he suited up, but it would have made sense if he wanted to swim in a baptismal font.
DeleteLove the skirt. I wouldn't have thought of making it for me, just for the girls. But it is perfect! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh I loves this skirt! And you look so great in it on that beautiful sofa.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with RJ: you can never be too prepared. You just never know when you'll have to swim! LOL
Even at church, apparently.

Um I love the idea of taking pictures while you're using what you made. I think it's super cool! That skirt is really cute on you. And swimming at church, oh that makes me laugh! :) My son is into hats right now, it's pretty funny what they come up with some days! :)
ReplyDeleteHats are funny too out of context, I think he just found the bag of swim gear and suited up rather than put his stuffy church clothes on. One week he did wear an orange belt and sunglasses to church because he was so set on them and it wasn't worth the fight. I thought after a few minutes he'd loose the glasses anyway, but he kept them on the whole time and would just look over the top of the rims.
DeleteHahaha I love the candid photos! Hilarious. Also, I like what you do with your feet - I think you're still a ballerina. :)
ReplyDeleteit was kind of revealing to see photos of myself, I also thought what am I doingwith my feet at the stove and the way I hold my pen looks weird, as if I'm half way flipping the bird or something.
DeleteI love the candid shots. And the skirt is lovely as well.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE the skirt and it is so fun to see you in action! Make me one too so we can be twinsies!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, we love to hear from you!
