Day at the Dunes
3:18 PM
Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend for those that celebrate Easter!
We've been gone 4 weeks while my husband worked in his home town, Delta, UT, and I'm just barely feeling back to normal at home and my kids are getting back on a regular routine/ sleep schedule after living at grandma's for a month.
While we were there one night we took our kids and some nieces and nephew to the dunes.
About five miles from my mother-in-law's house there are a few baby sand dunes in the middle of the desert. They're pretty cool plopped right in the middle of the desert floor and the sand is suprisingly fine, I expected big rocks and sticks mixed in.
This is where I took the photos for the euro swim trunk sewing pattern. I thought the photo shoot looked like a beach, but really we were in the middle of the western desert.
The kids like to roll down, or board down the steep side of the dune, and on top is just like playing at the beach.
It's a workout to climb back up a sand mountain
The girls mainly hung out on top.
In the 8 years we've been married, I've always voiced how ugly I think Delta is, but I could see how my husband could be so fond of the landscape that day. I guess it's been growing on me...and we just may end up moving there so I'd better learn to love the desert I guess.
I have a few projects to share this week, and I'm finishing up round one of euro shorts to purchase today!

ReplyDeleteOhh! I have a lot of family there! That would be cool if your hubby knew them!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family photos! Did you use a remote?
ReplyDeleteI've never been there, but it looks like another world!
I hope you are adjusting to being home again! That can be the hard part of travel.
