E CORDS 18mo Pattern and Text Instructions HERE
___________________________________________________________

I liked the result of Ellie's mustard corduroy pants so much I decided to whip up a few more!
I was wondering if anyone would like my pattern pieces to make your own. The original post had tips to use clothing to make your own pattern, but I already have these 18 month skinny jeans drafted.  Leave a comment if you think you'd use them so I know they'd help someone before I scan and finish the digital, printable version.

So for the complete set I chose to add charcoal and lilac for fall.

The "e" in the name comes from the little machine free sewn lower-case e on each bum pocket--Ellie's initial.
Most of the details are the same, the faux fly, buttonhole elastic waist, and narrow leg opening.
But this time around, I had plenty of fabric so I cut the pockets on the bias.
So the front patch pockets angle toward the side seams.

The bum pockets angle toward the back center seam.
Not a big deal, but a subtle texture detail when you cut it out.

  1. I LOVE these pants. I've scoured the internets for a skinny pant pattern that doesn't involve an actual zip fly. Sadly, my boys (yes I totally think this a unisex pattern!) fall into the 2-6 age range. I'd totally buy this if you were to make other sizes!!!

  2. My granddaughter is just moving into 18 month sized pants, so I would LOVE a printable pattern if you don't mind. These would be perfect for fall and winter. May I ask where you got your corduroy? The colors are yummy.

  3. Like everyone else, I really love these. My little boy has moved on from the 18 month size though. (*sniff*) But I probably will use the tutorial you posted to draft a pant pattern for him. Cords are my favourite!

  7. Jess, I love the blouses you've made for yourself and Ellie. I still don't know how you have the time to sew all of these clothes. The pants are definitely cute. It would be fun to try something like that.

  10. Great pants! My girls are too big for that size, but I have to take your idea and make some of my own. I am having the hardest time finding comfortable pants in the store for them, especially my 3 year old.

  15. If you felt like sharing your pattern, I would totally take you up on it! My little darling is just growing into size 18 months and I have been feverishly working to get her fall wardrobe made. I love the sassiness of skinny cords!
ps. for a pattern you're generously thinking about sharing for free, I'm just fine with hand-drawn lines. Save your energy if you'd like. :)
