The last few years for my husband's birthday I've made him a "nerd shirt".

So for this birthday he got Kip:
In case you're not familiar with Kip:
He's a character from the movie, Napoleon Dynamite:
Kip is Napolean's awesome older brother.
Here's the scene this shirt is quoting.
So to make your own Kip shirt!
To make your own you'll need:
-printed image of Kip
-feezer paper
-solid t-shirt
-fabric paint
-scissors, iron, paint brush
Freezer Paper makes your stencil:
Follow the paint instructions about dry time and possible heat sealing with a dry iron.
For the text, I wanted it to look hand "written" and similar to the font of the movie title.
To stabilize the knit t-shirt so I could paint the letters, I ironed freezer paper on the wrong side to keep it from stretching as I sloppily painted the words.

Haha, that's a super funny shirt! I love that you make funny shirts for your husband. Napoleon Dynamite came out the year I graduated from high school, it brings back funny memories thinking about it!

ReplyDeleteI am laughing out loud!! My husband has a shirt that says "I'm training to be a cage fighter" with a picture of Kip on it. HILARIOUS! I love it! Nice ending quote, too....I hope your wildest dreams come true.

Deletethose gag shirts are all fabulous! My husband is also a nerd and would totally "get" all of them. (hard core IT crowd fans here) this is such a wonderful idea. (the hubs birthday is next week) I think he'll be getting a rad nerd shirt too. thanks for the wonderful idea.
