Katie is the oldest grandchild in our family and she is really great. For New Year's our mama made her this gorgeous dress. The entire bodice is smocked by hand! It's silky, feminine, and Katie says it makes her feel like a princess.
wow having done some smocking on pillows and baby and toddler items *SMALL) items I am in awe of the bodice of this dress. I am assuming the one picture where she looks like her Aunt Jess is with your mother. thanks for sharing and what a family.
What an amazing dress! I am so glad you have decided to continue with your blog and that you are blogging with your sister. I was amazed when I realised you were sisters and pretty sad when your sis stopped blogging. Now we get both of you!
This blog is dead and has been for years. I leave it on the internet to access all the free tutorials I've created over the years I used to blog, but it is no longer active. If you are interested in what I create you can follow me on instagram:

ReplyDeleteI'm guessing, by the bare feet, that the princess Katie feels like is Rapunzel?

ReplyDeleteWow. It is gorgeous, the fabric color is beautiful. But all that smoking really makes it. She did a great job.
