Asymmetrical Hoodie Pattern Available!
2:26 AMAfter so many positive comments on the PTR entry for the asymmetrical hoodie, I started working up a tutorial. Thank you to everyone who left a comment, I really appreciate it.
But I found it ended up being so much work, and I realized in the end I really needed to share the actual pattern pieces. Explaining how I designed it in a way that you could mimic just didn't seem to be working.
So I'm selling my first pattern, for the Hipster Hoodie.
While I was putting so much into it, I added smaller sizes, for 2T and 12-18 months while I was at it.
I figured most people wouldn't put a baby smaller than 12 months in a pull over hood shirt out of the inconvenience, so I didn't make sizes smaller than 12 months.
I also included some variations with ideas of how you could adapt the basic pattern using different fabric prints, textures, and an additional three-quarter sleeve option. You can also easily switch the angle of the diagonal, making the front pocket right or left handed. I hope I included enough variety, info, and ideas to make the pattern worth the financial investment!
There were some requests for an adult version of the design. I haven't had a chance to work on that, but hope to offer an adult pattern sometime for those that would be interested.
And to kick off this new venture of selling my design, I thought I'd do a giveaway.
Leave a comment telling me your favorite television show as a kid.
For me, as a little kid the Barbie cartoon with Jem, Carebears close second.
A little older in the 90s and I was hooked to animated X-Men. Setting my alarm Saturday mornings to watch. It was awesome--cartoon, superheroes, action, and kid friendly soap opera romances. Oh Gambit and Rouge, if only she could touch you and not kill you.

I love LOVE your hipster hoodie!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was really little I loved Sesame Street (yes, I was raised on the street...) and I also loved 3,2,1 Contact. MathNet was also good. Cartoons? Thundercats, all the way.
Cute hoodie, but even cuter models :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved Disneys Gummibears as a kid. And Chip 'n Dale. And Ducktales of course. Actually I loved every Disney Cartoon and still think they where so much better than the stuff they make today, but thats maybe just the way everybody thinks about his childhood.
I liked Smurfs and Gummy Bears!
ReplyDeleteI loved Jem and the Rockers too. My sister's name is Kimberly and she insisted on being called Kimber for quite awhile!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! :) When I was smaller I LOVED Care Bares, Rainbow Bright, Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcakes...the whole group of early 80's cartoons! :)

Thanks so much for the giveaway
Hm-I'm a little too young for most of the responses given (so far). I honestly don't remember what I watched when I was little...did we even have a tv? Is it too emabarrasing to say I do remember watching Power Rangers? I wasn't 'little' but that's the first show I can actually remeber. I must not have been super attached to any shows before that.
ReplyDeleteI remember the Muppet Babies... so cute. Congrats on selling your first pattern! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteA - I'm so pumped that you made/ and are selling this pattern!!
ReplyDeleteB - Seseame Street was pretty much all I remember watching - is that lame? :) It looks like from the responses I might have been missing some pretty cool stuff!
