Nightstand Update

We inherited this old nightstand from my parents. There's nothing really wrong with it, but as I was getting ready to prime my craft table, I was thinking if there were other things I needed to prime while I was getting everything messy anyway. I decided to paint this nightstand to better match the rest of my son's room.
This before photo I had already removed the old hardware and filled the holes with wood filler.
1. Sand
I just gave it a quick sanding to get the prior finish roughed up.
Wipe everything down with damp paper towels to remove all saw dust.

2. Prime
Oil based Primer

3. Paint
I painted it the same Behr Popped Corn, but I kept going back and forth, thinking of painting the inside of the shelf green. I decided to go out on a limb and painted it the Olympic Cavern Moss from the dresser, then the 2nd coat I painted the Glidden Spanish Moss from the vintage chair and file cabinet. The end result was a light olive color.
**I didn't polyurethane this guy.

4. New Hardware
Drill holes and attach new hardware. I found these at Lowe's for $0.75 each!

Now it looks a little more updated and child- like.

I made the lamp here.
